  • The wedding activities in Tuscany are about 50 min from Florence.

    • If traveling from Europe we recommend flying into Florence.

    • If traveling from abroad, we we recommend flying into Milan or Rome and taking the train to Florence (about 2ish hours to from Rome and 3 hours from Milan).

      • Another great option is to rent a car. We recommend Hertz, National, and Sixt. Please be aware some car rentals require you to have a European license. It is recommend you ask what their polices are before renting.

      • Florence has a regional airport, however prices can vary if taking connecting flight.

  • We do not have room blocks but recommend the below hotels.

    • Hotel Calimala

      • The bride and grooms hotel.

    • Hotel Continentale

    • FH55 - Hotel Calzaiuoli

Should you choose other accommodations we highly recommend reaching out to ensure central air-conditioning is present.

  • Florence was recently voted one of the most walkable cities in the world. Ubers are not easily available in Italy, however their public transportation and taxi system is robust making it very easy to get to your accommodations when traveling throughout.

  • The easiest way to get to Tuscany from Florence is by car rental or car service. Please note that Ubers are not available in the countryside. We recommend scheduling a car service in advance or renting a car for the time you will be in Tuscany. Please let the couple know if you need help with arranging transportation.

  • We recommend the flowing stays as they are walking distance from the wedding villa (Villa La Selva).

    • Villa Assolata

    • Relais La Martina

      • A 20 min walk or 4 min drive. The hotel can arrange taxis to and from the wedding activities.

    • Casa Cornacchi

Please note these accommodations book out far in advance as September is peak wedding season. It is recommended to book as soon as possible to ensure accommodations easily accessible to all the wedding activities!

  • Ubers are not available in the countryside. It is best to have a car rental should you wish to explore the countryside or drive 20 min to Siena. Otherwise taxis and car services are usually available to book through your villa guest services.

    • It is important to try to book travel and accommodations as soon as possible.

    • 2025 is the year of Jubilee (happens every 25 years) in Italy in which each month will host millions of pilgrims from abroad who will travel to Italy from around the world, meaning flights and accommodations will be booked well in advance and may sell out.

    • We have carefully selected a wedding date that does not fall near an event, however to ensure you are able to book your desired flights and accommodations we highly recommend booking things well in advance.

    • If staying near the villa we recommend you book as soon as you can as there are not many accommodations in the area and September is peak wedding season. There is another wedding happening next door so the accommodations listed above will sell out.

    • The best time to buy international flights is around the 3-4 month mark, however because of the influx of tourists in Italy next year we recommend you look further in advance to track pricing.

    • Flying during the week is usually the cheapest.

    • If you are flying from America, these are overnight flights meaning you will bet there the next day. Ex: If you fly on a Wednesday, you will get there on Thursday. Return flights are usually same day flights.

    • It is always best to have at LEAST 2 hours layover time in-between flights should you take connecting flights.

    • With uncertainty of flights such as delays, cancelation and lost baggage we recommend you add in a buffer day or two should a delay in travel arise. We highly recommend exploring one of Danny and Vanessa's favorite cities - Florence!

    • In order to travel you will need a passport.

    • Please check your passport. Your passport should be valid for MORE than 6 months from the date of departure back to America. Should your passport expire within 6 months, they may not allow you to get on the plane.

    • Reminder to renew or apply for your passports well in advance, some processing times have been reported to take more than 6 months from application.

    • The EU is planing to require visa's for American travelers into Europe in 2025. This is not official but should be an easy application process should this take into affect. We will monitor and update you all on this.

  • Please be aware some car rental agencies require European licenses. The "online" international driving permits are not valid and will not be accepted. Hertz, Sixt, and National all allow rentals to American License holders. Keddy and Europcar require a license from a EU country.

  • Should you stay in a airbnb in Florence, please ensure that there is central air-conditioning. Some sites will mention air-conditioning, but can often just include fans, or small window units. We recommend you reach out to the host to see what kind of air-conditioning if any is provided. September can still be very hot.

    • If you are bringing chargers, hair tools, steamers etc that are using American outfits, they should be duel voltage for it to be compatible to use in Italy. European voltage is 240 volts.

    • You should also bring a adapter as most hotel, airbnbs and villas only have European outlets.
